You are reliable, organized, and comfortable owning key areas of the monthly close, preparing reconciliations, and supporting SEC reporting requirements.
You bring a mix of technical strength and practical problem-solving, with the ability to work cross-functionally across FP&A, Operations, and Supply Chain. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, communicate clearly, and proactivelyidentifyprocess and system improvements.
You also take pride in accuracy, integrity, and accountability, and can guide junior team members while still being willing to roll up their sleeves.
The Task At Hand : The Accounting Manager reports to the Director of Accounting and plays a key role in leading the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial reporting, technical accounting, and internal controls. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced CPG environment and is excited to support the demands of a newly public company.
The Accounting Manager will collaborate cross-functionally, support SEC reporting, and help build scalable processes as the organization grows.
- Manage financial close and reporting by leading key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, ensuringtimelyandaccurateresults, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Oversee day-to-day corporate, business unit, and international accounting, including GL activities, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with company policies and internal controls
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and components ofconsolidatedfinancial statements
- Assistin the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K), including financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A support
- Support the annual audit by preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring appropriate documentation
- Contribute to cash flow analysis, working capital monitoring, and banking or covenant reporting as needed
- Support other activities and projects aligned with business priorities
- Support technical accounting and compliance throughmonitoringevolving accounting standards, evaluating their impact on the company, and helping prepare technical accounting memos (e.g., ASC 606, 842, 718, 350/360)
- Support equity accounting, stock-based compensation expense calculations, and related disclosures
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting and tax requirements
- Maintain and strengthen internal controlsin accordance with
SOX requirements - Assistin developing, updating, and enforcing accounting policies and procedures
- Partner with Supply Chain & Operations and drive support through working withthe inventory accounting team on inventory valuation, cost updates, co-packer invoice review, and operational accounting
- Monitor and analyze COGS, production variances, freight, and other manufacturing-related costs
- Collaborate with FP&A, Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure data accuracy and support close-related activities
- Continuously improve systems & tools byidentifyingopportunities to streamline, automate, and improve accounting workflows and month-end processes
- Serve as an accounting lead for ERP oversight, including system enhancements, internal controls, and data integrity
- Drive adoption of close management tools (e.g.,Flo Qast) and automation opportunities to accelerate close timelines
- Support system implementations and contribute to the development of dashboards and analytics tools (e.g.,Power
BI, Looker) for internal reporting - Provide team leadership throughday-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to AP, AR, and GL staff
- Help build a high-integrity, high-accountability culture grounded in accuracy, compliance, and collaboration
- Support the development and growth of team members through clear expectations and constructive feedback
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, while an MBA or MS is preferred
