Job DescriptionThe Nurse Manager will lead and manage the operations of the Critical Care and Stepdown Units, ensuring delivery of high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with complex medical and telemetry needs. The role requires clinical expertise, leadership, fiscal acumen, and the ability to foster collaboration among multidisciplinary teams. The Nurse Manager ensures alignment with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient-centered care principles.
Physical Requirements- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Proficiency in manual dexterity and fine motor skills for tasks such as taking patient vitals, administering injections, or conducting physical exams.
- Capacity to lift and move patients or medical equipment as needed.
- Visual acuity and color perception to accurately read medical charts, documents, and monitors.
- Auditory ability to effectively communicate with patients and colleagues, as well as to perceive important sounds such as alarms or patient instructions.
- Stamina and resilience to handle the physical and emotional demands of providing patient care, including long shifts and potentially stressful situations.
- Mobility to navigate clinical environments, including moving between patient rooms, offices, and other areas of the facility.
- Compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Nurse Manager I
Associate’s degree in nursing is required. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. For any staff with ADN, BSN completion within 2 years of hire is strongly encouraged. Must have a current license in the state of South Carolina as a registered nurse. Three (3) years’ experience in a clinical specialty required. One year of supervisory/ leadership experience and certification in a clinical specialty preferred.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required. ACLS certification is required within 6 months of hire.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required. Must have a current license in the state of South Carolina as a registered nurse. Three (3) years’ experience in a clinical specialty required. One year of supervisory/ leadership experience and certification in a clinical specialty preferred. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
ACLS certification is required within 6 months of hire.
