Overview
Position Summary:
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions, and communicates business objectives to teams. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives, and ensuring customer needs and issues are resolved through action plans and process improvements.
Drives the financial performance of the designated store area by reviewing PL/Profit & Loss statements, managing budgeting and forecasting, controlling expenses, ensuring merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, recognizing associates, and promoting a sense of belonging. Recruits and develops qualified associates to meet staffing needs and grow the business. Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by building relationships with stakeholders and aligning plans to meet customer and business needs.
Complies with company policies and procedures, supports mission, values, and ethics, and applies the Open Door Policy in daily business processes. Respects individuals, acts with integrity, serves customers, and strives for excellence by embracing learning, technology, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities- Lead and develop teams through teaching, listening, feedback, and coaching; communicate store operations, initiatives, and objectives at all levels.
- Model exceptional customer service, manage customer service initiatives, resolve issues, and drive a high-quality customer experience.
- Drive financial performance by analyzing profit and loss, budgeting, forecasting, expense control, and optimizing inventory and merchandising.
- Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates; promote belonging and recruit top talent.
- Coordinate activities with key stakeholders; monitor progress, set goals, and address improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with policies, support ethics and integrity, and apply Open Door Policy in practice.
- Foster a culture of respect, integrity, customer focus, and continuous learning; attract and retain talent and drive results.
- Minimum Qualifications:
2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience with 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience with 1 year of supervisory experience. - For facilities selling firearms: successful completion of a firearms-specific CBC and Firearms Authorized Training.
- For facilities selling ammunition with state requirements: may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
- Associates must attend and complete all required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University;
Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership; experience supervising 5+ direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
