The Medical University of South Carolina Health is seeking a full‑time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) passionate about caring for patients with heart and cardiovascular disease. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a busy, growing Cardiology service line that includes:
- 3 General Cardiologists
- 2 Interventional Cardiologists
- 4 experienced Cardiology APPs
Our team supports two outpatient cardiology clinics, an inpatient consult service, and comprehensive cardiac testing for both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Work Schedule- Hours per week: 40
- Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Every 5th weekend assist with on‑call physician inpatient rounds and consults from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
- Outpatient, Inpatient, Cardiac testing, Emergency Department Management/Consultation.
- Age range: 17 years – death.
Required Minimum Training: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant

* * completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN as noted below.
- Physician Assistant
- APRN License Type/Certification:
- AGPNP/ANP (Adult Gerontology Primary Care NP or Adult NP):
Adult patients (13 years to death), stable chronic disease state management or primary care setting. - FNP (Family NP): (birth to death) Stable chronic disease state management, primary care across the lifespan.
- AGPNP/ANP (Adult Gerontology Primary Care NP or Adult NP):
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a PA, FNP or ANP.
- APRN:
- AGACNP/ACNP (Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner):
Adult patients (13 years to death), acutely ill or injured, potentially unstable, or technologically dependent (vents, drips, monitors, etc.)
- AGACNP/ACNP (Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner):
- Minimum of 2 years’ cardiology experience as a PA, AGACNP or ACNP.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant will be assigned a Primary Supervising/Collaborating Physician employed by MUSC and will report directly to this physician.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- DHEC and DEA license.
- Takes comprehensive history and performs physical examinations.
- Evaluates and treats based on history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results pursuant to the practice agreement or scope of practice guideline.
