Overview
Job Description Summary Operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. Reviews physician requisition orders and instructions concerning patient preparation for ultrasound procedure. May communicate to OB/GYN nursing team status of patient condition pre and post procedure.
Performs ultrasound imaging for fetal diagnosis and anomaly detection for patients with high risk indications.

Education:
Graduation from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Work Experience:
At least 2 years of modality specific experience required.
Registration/Certification:
Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or the ARRT(S) required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
