Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Primary Care Physical Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a valuable member of our healthcare staff, you will assist licensed physical therapists in delivering care to homebound patients, supporting individuals recovering from injuries or illnesses.
Responsibilities- Assist in the implementation of treatment plans and conduct therapeutic exercises with patients.
- Educate patients on proper rehabilitation techniques and document patient progress.
- Develop individualized treatment plans, instruct and assist patients in performing activities, and monitor progress.
- Maintain a clean and organized therapy environment; ensure equipment is sanitized and maintained.
- Communicate regularly with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and adjust plans as needed.
- Assist in the implementation of discharge plans and provide instructions for continued care and follow-up services.
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of practice.
- CPR certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Compassion and empathy for patients undergoing rehabilitation.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to assist patients with mobility and perform therapeutic activities.
- Pelvic Health Experience and/or interest.
- Prior experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Specialized training or certification in orthopedics, pelvic health, neurology, or geriatrics.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and another language commonly spoken by patients in the area.
- Two schedules available:
- Monday–Friday (8:00 AM–5:00 PM) with one weekend per month
- Monday–Sunday (7:00 AM–7:00 PM), 7 days on / 7 days off
- Service areas:
Orangeburg and Newberry, SC.
