Description
The Dougherty County Public Works Department has a vacancy for a Mechanic III.
Essential TasksEmployee in this position is responsible for overseeing general repairs on County vehicles and heavy equipment, such as repairing brakes, replacing engines and transmissions, repairing electrical and air conditioning systems.
Oversees basic maintenance on vehicles and equipment such as tune-ups, replacing tires, changing and storing oil and changing filters.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationMust be a high school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of one (1) year of vocational/educational training in diesel, gas and small engine repair.
Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience as gasoline/diesel mechanic or any related equivalent combination of education, training and experience which will provide the knowledge, skill and ability to perform the duties of the position.
Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License with a Hazmat endorsement.
Must also have ASE and TMAC Certifications.
