Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Recommend bakery or deli items to customers.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
• Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes.
• Label, package, and inventory ingredients and products.
• Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
• Use kitchen equipment properly and maintain cleanliness.
• Maintain inventory and stock levels, report discrepancies.
• Ensure proper storage temperatures and maintain logs.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among staff.
• Adhere to food safety and safety procedures, report unsafe conditions and accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, manage conflicts professionally.
• Follow directions, seek assistance when needed, and support diverse customer needs.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills, effective communication, basic math knowledge.
• Ability to obtain a food handlers permit after employment.

Experience

• Customer service experience, bakery or deli experience helpful, retail experience preferred.
