Your Role on the TeamAs a Nurse Practitioner II in the Hematology/Oncology Division, you will provide independent, advanced nursing care to oncology patients in the ambulatory and infusion center settings, collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals.
Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive care to oncology patients, including assessment, treatment planning, education, monitoring, and discharge planning.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care and communicate with patients and referring physicians.
- Perform clinical tasks within your scope of practice and approved privileges.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation, including medical reports and progress notes.
- Participate in clinical trials and early‑phase trial patient care.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director, Nurse Practitioner Supervisor, and other stakeholders to uphold quality standards.
- Adhere to privacy, confidentiality, and PHI policies.
- Accredited Nurse Practitioner program with successful completion.
- Current, active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse license.
- Current, active, unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner license (Furnishing license).
- DEA registration and Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Minimum of two years experience in hematology/oncology and two years in inpatient and/or acute care.
- Ability to obtain UCI Medical Center Allied Health Professional Privileges prior to hire.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer‑service skills.
- Proficiency in using specialized medical equipment and procedures.
- NP National Board Certification:
Adult Gerontology Acute Care (AGACNP‑BC) or ACNPC‑AGBC. - Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Certification – ACONP and/or ONS Chemotherapy Certification (obtained within 3 months of hire).
Salary range: $81,410 – $93,490. Benefits include medical insurance, sick and vacation time, retirement savings plans, and access to discounts and perks.
