Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Practitioner

CHOC Specialists, in conjunction with Rady Children’s Health-Orange County, is seeking a full-time Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team. Responsibilities include providing quality care to pediatric critical care patients from birth to young adulthood. Our service is exclusively inpatient with shared rotating night and weekend call.

The successful candidate will be a California licensed and certified Nurse Practitioner with at least two years of bedside nursing experience in direct pediatric critical care. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills. At least one year of clinical pediatric Nurse Practitioner experience is desired, but not mandatory.

CHOC Specialists is a private pediatric subspecialty group with over 425 physicians and advanced practice providers in 26 pediatric subspecialties. We practice at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), a premier healthcare system in Orange County, Calif., and are affiliated with the University of California, Irvine. CHOC’s regional healthcare network includes two state‑of‑the‑art hospitals, several primary and specialty care clinics, a pediatric residency program, and four centers of excellence – The CHOC Heart, Neuroscience, Orthopedic, and Hyundai Cancer Institutes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive, evidence‑based care to pediatric critical care patients.
  • Participate in shared rotating night and weekend call for inpatient service.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Qualifications
  • California licensed and certified Nurse Practitioner.
  • Minimum of two years bedside nursing experience in direct pediatric critical care.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Preferred, but not required, one year of clinical pediatric Nurse Practitioner experience.
