Central Sterile Tech I Float – Sterile Processing (FT Day)

Location: Orange and Irvine, CA (requires floating)

UCI Health is the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine, and the only academic health system based in Orange County. The system includes UCI Medical Center, a 459‑bed acute care hospital, and additional hospitals and affiliated physicians across Orange and Los Angeles Counties.

The Central Sterile Tech is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment distributed throughout the hospital and affiliated clinics. The role participates in special projects and departmental performance improvement initiatives as requested.

• Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintain sterilization equipment, perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with infectious control techniques and medical terminology standards.
• Support variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Float between Orange and Irvine locations as required.
• Contribute to departmental and center‑wide improvement projects.

• Accredited education in Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology, or 18 months of relevant sterile processing experience.
• Knowledge of infectious control techniques and medical terminology.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be willing to float between Orange and Irvine locations.

• Experience working in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
