Job Duties
- Multiple positions may be filled from this posting (Louisa, Orange and Goochland County Offices).
- Probation Officers will provide domestic and delinquent intake services and juvenile probation and parole supervision.
- Officers will provide effective interventions and services for competency development and accountability to promote juvenile behavioral change and public safety.

Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge and/or experience of the criminal justice system to include court proceedings
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, guidelines and procedures
- Knowledge of techniques to interview clients
- Knowledge of client counseling techniques
- Knowledge and ability to assess client needs and develop case plans
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, including the creation of written reports
- Knowledge and ability to identify community resources and human service agencies to support families
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- A valid driver’s license is required or the ability to obtain by the date of hire
Additional Considerations
- Experience working with juveniles and their families
- Experience with community programming
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
