Company DescriptionOur PE-Backed Aerospace Manufacturing client is looking for a strong Controller to partner with the CFO and Divisional President and oversee cost accounting and operational finance. This is a hands‑on position and an individual contributor role. Their ideal candidate must‑have extensive inventory industry experience and be familiar with a job costing environment.

- Partner with Divisional President as you will be the primary financial driver to the Site Ops Leadership team, providing data‑driven insights to optimize local operations.
- Master the Job Costing Environment:
Oversee the financial lifecycle of "Build to Print" prototypes and "Design & Development" projects for blue‑chip customers like Lockheed Martin, RTX (Raytheon), Northrop Grumman, Boeing, General Dynamics, BAE Systems, Airbus, L3
Harris, Thales, and Leidos. - Monitor and report on critical manufacturing KPIs, including Labor Variances, Overhead Variances, and Purchase Price Variance (PPV).
- Lead the month‑end and year‑end closing process for the business unit, ensuring all financial statements are in compliance with GAAP.
- Dive deep as you analyze Product Profitability and Perform deep‑dive analysis on SKUs to determine customer and product profitability, identifying the highest margin opportunities.
- Support the corporate team in the annual budgeting process and regularly update operational forecasting schedules.
- Maintain Data Integrity:
Take full ownership of the integrity of all site‑level financial data, material usage reporting, and physical inventory variance analyses. - Ensure all balance sheet account reconciliations are performed accurately and timely each month.
- Maintain effective communication with the CFO, SVP of Accounting, and Sr. Director of Corporate FP&A.
- Apply continuous improvement methods to remove unneeded steps from financial processes and implement best‑in‑class accounting practices.
- Assist in special projects including due diligence and the integration of new acquisitions as the company moves towards an IPO.
- Monitor cost tracking across the facility to ensure projects remain within budget and provide early warnings on potential overages.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related degree
- Manufacturing industry experience is required.
- Cost accounting experience is required.
- Knowledge of major accounting software packages for general ledger accounting
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, business leaders, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
