The Cloud Engineer (Platform Engineering) will work under minimal supervision and be responsible for the day-to-day design, development and operations of Cal Optima Health's cloud platform (Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory and related services), focusing on network aspects. The incumbent will expand the existing cloud architecture and assist workloads transitioning to the cloud with minimal business disruption. This role requires coordination with internal support, engineering teams and external partners/vendors on multiple projects.

• Collaborate with others to support department goals and priorities.
• Design, develop and deploy cloud-based systems and services in collaboration with Architects, following best practices and strategic direction.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure initiatives and assist other departments with migrating workloads to the cloud.
• Coordinate medium to large projects, including planning, development, testing and implementation.
• Provide input on technical architecture and direction for cloud environments.
• Update cloud reference architecture and support Microsoft Azure, Office 365, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS integrations and other cloud services.
• Evaluate and provide insight on cloud technologies (modules, applications, hardware and new software).
• Ensure efficient performance and utilization of cloud services (compute, storage, network).
• Collaborate with Information Security on cloud vulnerabilities and threats; identify, analyze and resolve issues.
• Work with ITS Application teams on service performance by migrating workloads to Azure and automating tasks (Power Shell, Python, etc.).
• Assist with configuration of network solutions.
• Respond to updates and close service desk tickets from internal partners.
• Review legacy systems with ITS to identify improvements.
• Monitor network/system performance and security/environmental alarms.
• Assist with data contingency/disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Complete other projects and duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology or related field required.
• 5 years of experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 required.
• 5 years of experience with Extreme Networks EXOS and XIO, VOS, EOS and Control in wired/wireless environments required.
• 5 years of experience with Palo Alto NGFW, VPN, SD-WAN, Cortex required.
• 5 years of experience with F5 LTM required.
• 5 years of experience with Cisco Ironport (secure emails) required.
• 5 years of experience with RSA, Yubikey, Azure Active Directory MFA required.
• 3 years of experience with Zscaler, Pulse VPNs for remote workforce required.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience is also qualifying.

• Cloud-based certification (Microsoft Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Network vendor certifications (Extreme, Palo Alto or F5).
• Experience in a multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environment.
• Experience with ITIL Foundations or relevant best-practice framework.
