The International School of Orange County is seeking a Pedagogical Director responsible for the development and implementation of a coherent and cohesive academic program across the school.

As a member of the leadership team, the Pedagogical Director works in support of the School’s vision, ensuring that the academic program remains innovative, forward-thinking, and aligned with the latest educational research and evolving requirements.

The Pedagogical Director reports directly to the Head of School and works closely with teachers and the entire school team to foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence in teaching and learning.

• Establish academic and pedagogical goals and objectives aligned with the School’s vision, mission, values, and strategic plan.
• Support an inclusive culture and positive climate that reflects the School’s vision, promotes excellence, collaboration, and mutual respect.
• Collaborate on School policies and protocols consistent with school-wide principles, practices, and expectations.
• Foster and promote cohesive school-wide practices to ensure alignment and consistency across programs.

• Monitor, develop, and evaluate the harmonized French/English program to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with school accreditations.
• Oversee the implementation of the French Ministry of Education’s curriculum and programs, ensuring alignment with accreditation criteria.
• Provide guidance through teacher observations and feedback to uphold teaching excellence in a caring environment.
• Collaborate in the analysis of student assessments, and results to inform instructional practices.
• Ensure the program and its implementation comply with all accreditation standards.
• Contribute to scheduling and the development of pedagogical team structures.
• Oversee, promote, and actively engage in School improvement planning processes.

• Develop standards for student achievement and establish documentation processes.
• Organize, document, and lead conseils de classe and other meetings regarding specific student situations.
• Set academic standards for admissions tests and procedures, and participate in open-house events.
• Develop and maintain an inclusive, equitable, and supportive environment for all students.

• Organize, document and lead faculty meetings.
• Foster and ensure the effectiveness of faculty collaboration, including specialized support.
• Contribute to the development of professional learning priorities.
• Organize and promote professional development and training opportunities for teachers and staff.
• Provide guidance and feedback to teachers through observation to support their professional growth.
• Participate in the recruitment, selection, and supervision of teachers and assistants.

• Maintain open and direct communication with students and families.
• Communicate with stakeholders on academic matters, ensuring transparency and collaboration.
• Ensure streamlined communication with families.
• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with educational, cultural, and community organizations to enrich the instructional program and provide diverse learning opportunities for students.
