Salary range: Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary benchmarks for Neurology ranging from $ - $. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step  the Professorial Series (Adjunct, Clinical X, HS Clinical, In Residence, Ladder Rank) and Professor of Teaching Series - Health Sciences Compensation Plan. This position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

UC Irvine Movement Disorders Program The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) is excited to invite applications for a full-time faculty position within our Movement Disorders Program. We are seeking a board eligible or board certified physician with a genuine passion for caring for patients with movement disorders. The successful candidate will play a key role in our specialty and interdisciplinary clinics at UCI Health.

We're looking for candidates who are collaborative and dedicated to delivering exceptional clinical care. In addition to patient care, this role includes opportunities for research and contributing to the education and mentorship of residents, medical students, and post-doctoral fellows.

Candidates should have experience working in a collaborative, comprehensive neurosciences center, with a strong dedication to patients, their families, and delivering excellent care. Active involvement in international, national, and/or regional professional societies is preferred. Experience in teaching and/or participation in clinical research or clinical trials is highly desirable.

Candidates must hold M.D., M.D./Ph.D., D.O., or equivalent degree with active board certification or eligibility in Neurology with fellowship training in Movement Disorders.

The UCI Neurology Movement Disorders Program offers comprehensive, compassionate, world-class care for the spectrum of adult movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease; essential tremor;
Lewy Body disease;
Huntington's disease as a HDSA Center of Excellence; dystonia; tic disorders; chorea; myoclonus; and atypical parkinsonism. In addition we have recently added dedicated programs in Ataxia and in Neurogenetics. Patients are cared for by a multidisciplinary team of professionals including neurologists, neuropsychologists, and allied health professionals to provide patients with leading-edge neurological services. We have a strong DBS program in collaboration with our outstanding colleagues in Neurosurgery, and a busy practice offering botulinum toxin treatment.

We also have a strong relationship with pediatric movement disorders neurologists  clinical trials activities, the CIRM-funded UCI Alpha Stem Cell Clinic and the Center for Clinical Research provide robust infrastructure for clinical trials, and we are a Parkinson Study Group clinical trials site. Taken together, this creates a wealth of opportunities for the successful candidate to conduct and participate in research with outstanding mentorship and support.

The applicant will participate in the clinical, teaching, and research activities of the UCI Neurology Program in Movement Disorders.

The Department of Neurology and the Movement Disorders Program strive to provide a rich educational environment, including a UCNS-certification fellowship for Movement Disorders. We also provide undergraduate, postgraduate, continuing medical education, and neurology grand rounds programs to educate the next generation of physicians.

Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The successful candidate will teach fellows, residents, and medical students, provide patient care, participate in scholarly activities, and contribute to both University and community service.

Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "Neurology" Series: The successful candidate will be expected to conduct significant research, deliver high-quality patient care, and teach fellows, residents, and medical students. In addition, contributing to both University and public service is an important part of the role. Exceptional teaching skills are a key requirement for appointment in this series.
