Job Description
What is a Salesperson? An entry‑level sales position supporting the DIY business and achieving our sales and service objectives. The role requires knowledge of store systems, basic automotive system and part knowledge, and the ability to source from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers. The candidate should have in‑depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes, and may work part‑time or full‑time.
Fleet safety certification is preferred.
- Provide an excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal sales goals and help the store meet its sales objectives.
- Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installations, etc.
- Maintain store product and operational standards.
- Manage inventory processes including truck put‑away, shoots, cycle counts, and back‑stock.
- Maintain store cleanliness – floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot.
- General stocking – truck stocking and back‑stock.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Ability to use the delivery board system.
- Friendly communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge.
- Operating POS and parts lookup systems.

Job Skills for a Salesperson
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus) and communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- 2–3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.

The role requires walking or standing for most of the day, talking, hearing, handling objects, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds continually and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentEmployees typically work inside, with occasional outside exposure and weather conditions. Tasks such as installing batteries and wiper blades and handling moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, chemicals, electrical shock, explosives, and vibration may occur. Noise levels are usually moderate.
