Security Manager

Job Summary

Manage all aspects of John Knox Village 24/7 Security operation, being accountable for staff performance and maintenance of equipment. This working manager provides liaison between the Security department and all other departments as necessary.

• Manage all aspects of John Knox Village 24/7 Security operation, being accountable for performance of staff and maintenance of equipment.
• Hire, train, and promote staff to fill security posts as needed.
• Direct the work of security staff.
• Counsel security staff as needed.
• Implement and enforce relevant operational procedures as set by John Knox Village management.
• Develop and modify security procedures and operational manuals as needed.
• Function as liaison between security department and all other departments as necessary.
• Oversee daily logs, incident reports and all issues of note, including internal campus investigations; report the same to Director of Campus Services and/or appropriate director staff.
• Function as liaison between John Knox Village and local law enforcement agencies.
• All other duties as noted in Security Officer and Lieutenant job responsibilities.

• May be exposed to inclement weather conditions.
• Busy office environment with incoming calls from residents, security officers, and other departments.

• Must pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Clearinghouse (Learn more: ).
• Employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.   Vision abilities may require close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• For the safety and security of our residents and patients, employees must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English, which is the most universally used language of our resident and employee population.
• High school graduate or GED equivalent, valid Florida driver’s license in good standing.
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, ability to remain calm in all situations, ability to work various shifts and days.
• Thorough knowledge of John Knox Village policies/procedures, and property/facilities.
