Description

Retail Store Management Trainee - 3276 s role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in fast-tracking into a Store Management position. Requires a minimum of 1 year retail management experience. Pay rate: $14.50 to $22.40 per hour.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six (6+) months of Store Management experience. A Store Manager Trainee is accountable for day-to-day store operations, leading and developing store employees, recruiting and retaining top talent, maximizing financial goals, and managing customer relations. This position partners with the Store Manager and may involve analyzing store financial statements and contributing to profitability.

The role may involve handling jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms in FFL locations. This position offers hourly pay plus commission and a bonus based on store performance.

Responsibilities Of a Store Management Trainee Are
  • Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues.
  • Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent through company-prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, count cash drawers and merchandise, and protect assets.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control and safety procedures.
  • Administer processes in the store including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, and reporting.
  • Evaluate store financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal-setting.
  • Ensure operating standards meet First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure value and integrity of loans.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development.
  • Communicate clearly with employees about the store’s mission and profit objectives.
  • Remain up-to-date on product knowledge.
  • The Assistant Store Manager acts as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, climb, push, and pull for extended periods as required by job duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise others.
  • Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
  • May be asked to assist customers on exterior of building or retrieve products stored in exterior areas.
  • Minimum Age: 18
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as needed; flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Store Manager Trainee will work 45+ hours a week; hours are not guaranteed.
  • Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems and office machines.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; analytical skills.
  • Cash handling experience required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong work ethic.

Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Store Manager Trainees have the potential to earn 2-8% commission based on personal gross profit. Details provided during interview. Payrates will meet local minimum wage requirements.
