POSITION SUMMARYThe Nursing Supervisor position provides support to the unit. The Dialysis Nursing Supervisor will have 24-hour responsibility for the management of operations and achievement of organizational/unit based strategic goals. This is accomplished through the growth and retention of a cohesive team, support of a culture of safety, excellence and accountability, management of the departmental budget and resources, oversight of daily operations, participation in performance improvement and committee work, intradisciplinary communication and collaboration, development of evidence-based policy and procedure and general administrative duties.
The Nursing Supervisor must have/maintain the technical skills and competency to provide direct care for patients in the unit. The Nursing Supervisor will report directly to a Unit Manager, will be very involved with management duties, overall unit leadership and, will be able to manage daily operations and decision making with support from the Nursing Director.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or Associate degree in nursing
- Two - three years of dialysis nursing experience.
- Required Registration/License/Certification
- Alabama Board of Nursing License
- BLS within 90 days of DOH/Transfer
- ACLS obtained within 1 year of hire date
- Preferred Education
- BSN
- Preferred Experience
- Two - three years of dialysis management experience
- Preferred Registration/License/Certification
- Affiliation with professional organization (American Nurse Association, Alabama Nurse Association, American Nephrology Nurse Association, etc)
