Process Engineer – Direct Hire
Location: Opelika, AL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7a–4p/8a–5p (Additional hours or days may be required during shutdowns)
Compensation:$86,000–$100,000 base salary + 15% annual bonus

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Process Engineer for a direct-hire opportunity with a manufacturing leader in Opelika, AL. This role combines hands-on shop floor process improvement with long-term capital project involvement
, offering the opportunity to directly impact equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and plant performance.
The Process Engineer will become a leader of assigned processes and equipment, using data-driven insights to eliminate waste and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Will Do:
- Analyze safety, production, and maintenance processes to identify margin and efficiency improvements
- Review OEM processes and make recommendations regarding requirements and standard work procedures
- Monitor production, quality control systems, and operational reports to identify process issues and trends
- Recommend and implement process improvements to improve efficiency and reliability
- Mentor assigned personnel to build leadership and team effectiveness
- Communicate effectively across teams to ensure alignment and minimize miscommunication
- Coordinate with senior staff on personnel, safety, finance, and purchasing initiatives
- Support special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned by the Engineering Manager
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university required (Industrial or Mechanical Engineering degree highly preferred).
- 2–3 years of manufacturing experience required; lumber or wood products experience preferred, with consideration given to heavy industrial or paper mill backgrounds.
- Strong computer proficiency with experience in Microsoft Office, Maximo, and Power BI.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze data and recommend informed operational decisions.
- Understanding methods to improve efficiency, reliability, and margins, including recognizing how training and standardization improve production and efficiency.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
