Student Compost Technician - Miller Center

Job Summary

The Department of Poultry Science is looking for a student to assist with all operations pertaining to the FOR Solutions composting system located at the Charles

C. Miller Jr. Poultry Research and Education Center.

• Transporting food waste from main campus to the Miller Center using a university owned pick-up truck with hydraulic lift gate
• Transporting finished compost product back to main campus or other designated areas
• Weighing and loading food waste and carbon sources into the FOR Solutions composting system
• Monitoring the internal temperature of the FOR Solutions composting system
• Collecting and submitting compost samples to designated laboratories
• Maintaining a clean working environment
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

• Currently enrolled as an Auburn University student.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass an MVR.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Must be able to work at least 12 hours a week.

• Ability to push/pull containers weighing up to 250lbs.

$12.00 - $15.00/hour
