A Day in the Life of a Bakery Manager As a Bakery Manager, no day is ever the same. In our bakery, we create breads, cookies, pastries, desserts, and cakes, and you’ll lead a team of clerks to meet customer expectations while maintaining smooth day‑to‑day operations.

• Provide high‑quality customer service according to company standards.
• Oversee bakery department operations and staffing.
• Plan daily and weekly production, staffing, and scheduling.
• Supervise staff and provide training.
• Monitor the quality of goods and services.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bakery area, including display cases and work surfaces.
• Comply with all food safety, employee safety regulations, and company policies.
• Inform customers about products, offer samples, and promote sales.
• Take bakery orders over phone or in person.
• Manage accurate inventory and record‑keeping.
• Measure ingredients and prepare batters, dough, fillings, and icings.
• Operate mixing machines, ovens, slicers, and other equipment.
• Prepare, shape, bake, and display dough and related products.
• Move trays of baked goods to display areas.
• Read and follow recipes and production instructions.
• Obtain necessary stock and transport to work area.
• Order ingredients and supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean work area and suggest inventory and pricing changes.
• Adhere to uniform and grooming policy.

• Experience operating mixers, ovens, bread slicer, and related equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions, read and comprehend policies.
• Strong multitasking ability in a fast‑paced environment.
• Independent work capability and strong teamwork skills.
• Self‑motivated and eager to increase product knowledge; share with customers.
• Reliable attendance (early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays). Schedules vary weekly.
• Compliance with workplace conduct standards.
