Job Title

General Overview

DaVita Kidney Care is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) who is committed to delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care in an outpatient dialysis center. This role offers paid, extensive training and the opportunity to advance within the organization through clear career pathways.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct patient care: provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment, caring for up to four patients per shift.
  • Monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording vital statistics, patient observations, and setting up the hemodialysis machine.
  • Foster long‑term relationships with patients, educating them on kidney dialysis topics.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes for patients and teammates.
  • Work collaboratively with a cross‑functional team of clinicians (technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership) under the supervision of an RN.
  • Adapt to varying schedules, with shifts starting as early as 4:00 AM and extending beyond 12 hours; flexibility for Monday–Saturday, including weekends and holidays.

Details About This Position
  • No dialysis experience required.
  • Training conducted either in a facility or training clinic with classmates.
  • Potential to float to various clinics during and after training.
  • Typical training hours 32–40 hours/week.
  • Flexible schedule required:
    Monday through Saturday, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
Requirements
  • Desire to pursue a career in health care and care for others.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Comfortable mixing acid or bicarbonate solutions.
  • Available for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical and mental stamina for long, sometimes 12‑hour shifts, on your feet.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics.
  • Healthcare experience is a plus: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Employment Information

Part‑time;
