SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIESUnder the supervision of the Program Manager and/or the Diabetes Services Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for the planning, organizing, developing, and delivery of nutrition counseling and education to the community residents of Akwesasne, especially those with diabetes, pre-diabetes and those high-risk.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelors of Science Degree in Dietetics with 3 years of work experience as a registered Dietician.
- Current registration in good standing with at least one of the following:
College of dietitians of Ontario
OR
- The Ordre professionnel des dietetistes du Quebec and is eligible for membership in both provinces as applicable.
- Certified as a Diabetes Educator is a significant asset or demonstrates capacity to be certified within two years.
- Minimum of 1-year work experience with individual and group-based education strategies.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Knowledge and experience with the First Nations communities an asset
