Base Salary: $21.50/hour + evening shift premium

Position Profile

Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the Extruder Operator sets up and operates plastic extrusion equipment. The operator may also be required to assist with raw material receiving and operate a forklift when needed.

  • Operate extrusion equipment according to established parameters (temperature, pressure, speed).
  • Participate in production operations, including raw material silo loading, support to plastic transformation processes (extrusion), and baling of plastic materials.
  • Perform necessary adjustments during product or color changeovers.
  • Continuously monitor the quality of extruded products (pellets).
  • Feed raw materials into the machine and monitor production flow.
  • Conduct visual inspections and quality measurements (density, color, consistency).
  • Quickly identify abnormalities such as blockages, unusual noises, or flow variations.
  • Perform basic maintenance and assist with preventive shutdowns.
  • Complete production reports and quality control documentation.
  • Operate a forklift as required.
  • Strictly comply with occupational health and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform any other related duties.

Work Schedule (Full-Time – 40 Hours)

  • 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday (2 positions available)
  • 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Monday to Friday (1 position available)

Compensation

Base salary: $21.50/hour
Evening shift premium: +$2.00/hour

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience in plastic extrusion is an asset.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand machine operations.
  • Strong observational skills and quick response capabilities.
  • Autonomy, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in hot and noisy environments.
  • Ability to lift loads up to 25 kg.
