Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences, Occupational Safety Management, or related fields (preferred).
- Advanced degree or additional certifications (preferred).
Certifications
- Registered Environmental Manager (REM) or equivalent (required).
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent (preferred).
- Proficiency in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Knowledge of EPA, Cal OSHA, and DTSC hazardous waste regulations.
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in safety, environmental processes, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with OSHA, DOT, EPA regulatory requirements is preferred.
- Proven ability to manage site-specific environmental impact programs, including wastewater, hazardous waste, and sustainability initiatives.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of procedures to identify, evaluate, and mitigate workplace hazards (physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic).
- Expertise in implementing and maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Familiarity with California-specific regulations, including Cal OSHA and DTSC hazardous waste requirements.
Soft Skills

The Environmental and Safety Manager will oversee the development and implementation of safety, health, environmental, and sustainability programs at The Client’s Ontario, California facility. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, fostering a strong safety culture, and advancing sustainability initiatives. The successful candidate will lead safety and environmental compliance efforts, manage regulatory relationships, and champion sustainability programs aligned with The Client’s goals for a better, shared future.
Key Responsibilities- Safety Culture Development
- Foster a workplace environment that prioritizes employee safety through proactive initiatives and effective leadership.
- Build and maintain a robust and engaged Safety Committee to address safety concerns and promote safe work practices.
- Manage workers’ compensation cases, including communication with employees, medical professionals, and insurance administrators.
- Oversee environmental compliance, including wastewater management, hazardous waste disposal, and air quality standards (SCAQMD).
