Role Overview:
The Lubrication Technician is responsible for executing lubrication maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and performance of industrial equipment. This role involves both field and office work, utilizing Lube-It and SAP (or similar) to track lubrication schedules, maintain records, and support overall equipment reliability. The technician will work on pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, gearboxes, motors, drum dryers, and other rotating equipment. The Lubricator Technician plays a critical role in minimizing downtime and extending the lifespan of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lubrication Maintenance:
Apply proper lubrication practices to pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, gearboxes, motors, and drum dryers to minimize wear and extend equipment life - Lubrication Management System:
Utilize Lube-It, SAP, or similar system to track lubrication schedules, maintain documentation, and ensure proper execution of lubrication tasks - Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:
Conduct oil analysis, grease sampling, and lubrication inspections to detect contamination, degradation, or improper application - Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:
Identify and address lubrication-related failures, working closely with maintenance and reliability teams to implement corrective actions - Oil & Grease Application:
Select and apply the correct lubricants based on OEM specifications, environmental conditions, and equipment requirements - Ultrasonic-Assisted Lubrication:
Utilize ultrasonic technology to monitor and optimize grease application, ensuring bearings receive the correct amount of lubrication and preventing over- or under-lubrication. - Filter & Reservoir Maintenance:
Maintain oil reservoirs, change filters, and ensure lubrication systems are functioning correctly - Equipment Inspection & Reporting:
Perform routine inspections of mechanical systems and maintain accurate records of lubrication activities - Perform minor repairs and adjustments as needed to ensure proper functioning of equipment
- Operate lubrication equipment such as grease guns, oil cans, and automatic lubricators
- Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures related to lubrication, handling, and storage of oils and greases - Collaboration:
Work with maintenance, operations, and reliability teams to enhance lubrication best practices and improve equipment uptime
