Summary of Position
As the Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, supporting our Architecture and Engineering business unit, you will supervise a design team and manage mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion. You will apply your experience in: HVAC, plumbing/piping, refrigeration, fire protection, and fuel systems. As part of a multi-disciplined firm, you will be coordinating with Site/Civil Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Architects, and Construction Project Managers.
You will be responsible for the production of mechanical engineering construction documents while adhering to client requirements, code requirements, and site adjustments.
Responsibilities
* Lead client communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project goals.
* Conduct site visit investigations as well as generate reports/recommendations based on findings.
* Produce design plans, calculations and reports with limited direction.
* Coordinate with subconsultants, provide client interaction support, establish and maintain phase and task level budgets as well as schedule project phases and tasks.
* Schedule production staff and lead them through tasks, coordinate and assist with addendums, RFIs, and change orders.
* Drive internal coordination, establish QA/QC milestones, and confirm deliverables meet quality standards.
* Assist in coordinating the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of a project.
* Participate in business development opportunities and provide RFP support.
* Other related responsibilities as necessary to fulfill the objectives of this role.
Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required
* 10+ years of experience with general building mechanical design production, preferably with commercial projects such as retail, restaurants, grocery, financial, and/or convenience stores.
* PE required
* AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office required
Work Location
This is a hybrid (1 or 2 days a week in the office) position based out of the following Core States Group offices:
Ontario or Long Beach, CA. We are open to remote candidates located within a few hours of our offices, provided they are available for occasional travel to our CA offices a few times per month.
