COMPENSATION

$72,092.80 - $95,784.00 annual salary + a generous benefits package to include medical, dental, vision and 10% employer paid 401A through VOYA Financial.

Hiring Salary Range: $72,092.80 - $83,948.80 annual salary

(starting salary will be within this range based upon qualifications)

SUMMARY

The ADA and Risk Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the Ontario International Airport Authority’s (OIAA) compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to accessibility, safety, and risk management. This position plays a key role in monitoring, developing, and implementing programs and initiatives to promote a safe, inclusive, and compliant airport environment for passengers, employees, tenants, and visitors

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Important and essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Serve as the OIAA’s subject matter expert on ADA compliance and accessibility, ensuring adherence to all Title II and Title III requirements and other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact regarding ADA
  • Conduct accessibility audits of airport facilities, programs, and services; identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective action plans.
  • Investigate and respond to ADA-related inquiries, complaints, and accommodation requests in coordination with internal departments and legal counsel.
  • Develop and maintain the Airport’s ADA Transition Plan, including regular updates, documentation, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Facilities, Operations, Engineering, and other departments on design reviews, construction projects, and facility modifications to ensure ADA compliance.
  • Assist in evaluating and mitigating organizational risks through policy development, training, and compliance monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation related to ADA compliance, incidents, insurance, and risk assessments.
  • Prepare descriptive and evaluative reports for leadership on compliance efforts
  • Provide training and guidance to staff, tenants, and contractors on ADA standards, accessibility best practices, and risk management procedures.
  • Support investigations and reporting of workplace or public incidents, claims, and potential liabilities.
  • Creates a sense of community around disability rights - including outreach activities and events to community, tenants and stakeholders at airport.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, trends, and best practices in accessibility and risk management and recommend necessary program enhancements.
PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and related accessibility laws.
  • Knowledge of Risk management principles, and claims administration.
  • Knowledge of Safety regulations and industry best practices in facility compliance.
  • Interpret and apply complex laws, regulations, and technical standards.
  • Conduct detailed accessibility assessments and risk evaluations.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build collaborative working relationships across departments and with external partners.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation with accuracy and clarity.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education, training, and experience that would likely provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Public Administration, Occupational Safety, Disability Studies, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in ADA compliance, risk management, or related regulatory compliance work; experience in an airport, public agency, or transportation environment is required.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California Driver’s License.
  • Certification as an ADA Coordinator or equivalent (ADA Coordinator Training Certification Program).
  • Risk management certification (ARM, CRM, or equivalent) preferred.
