Responsibilities
  • Performs inventory analysis
  • Executes SCM master data set-up and maintenance
  • Executes Product Life Cycle management
  • Inventory management and ownership. Create and align buy-item stock / replenishment policy
  • Monitor item changes and secure planning in SAP
  • Drive and implement supplier managed and owned inventories
  • Forecast communication with suppliers, including validation
  • Manages forecast with suppliers, including validation, supplier S&OP meeting / n-tier supply availability check and follow-up
  • Align and balance material planning with production planning
  • Places orders with suppliers and monitors the outstanding order package in terms of delivery time, quality and price
  • Tracks order confirmation, monitors open order position, expedites if needed and keeps SAP updated
  • Identify material shortage risks at suppliers, including n-tier
  • Manage return orders to suppliers
  • Manage the mitigation and involve procurement in case commercial leverage is needed
  • Eliminate root causes of availability issues
  • Provides input for and joins supplier assessments and performance reviews; initiates and runs projects to improve performance
  • Knows calculation and planning methods.
  • Knows the technical aspects of the goods to be purchased; understands the technical requirements.
  • Expedite and shortage mitigation with suppliers
  • Knows how to run improvement actions and projects.
  • Supports junior buyers in shortage mitigation, root cause solutions and inventory management
  • Problem solving skills in shortages resolutions and take action with suppliers
  • Capable of analyzing supplier/ item profile in order to define proper replenishment process
  • Able to adjust communication style; e.g. demanding versus cooperative
  • Able to cope with stressful situations effectively
  • Calculates optimal inventory levels
  • Agrees order changes and mitigation actions with suppliers within the agreed boundaries of contract
  • Runs improvement projects
  • Pro-actively propose to improve logistics agreements
  • Influences optimum price/quality level of the goods and services to be purchased from TCO perspective
  • Supports other team members with their improvement activities
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years' experience in materials buying
  • Experience with master data management
  • Product lifecycle management
  • Inventory management background
