Our drivers are required to use tact and diplomacy in every aspect of the job when working with our customers, other Helena employees, and their leaders. WhatYour Day Will Look Like
- Assist in loading the trailer with materials.
- Unload the trailer using a forklift or hand truck.
- Transport loads over the required route to proper destinations.
- Obtain shipping bills and necessary signatures.
- Return completed paperwork to the shipping office.
- Remove empty skids from the trailer truck and carry them to the designated piling area.
- Perform miscellaneous service duties on the vehicle, including checking oil, water, gasoline, and air in tires on a daily basis.
- Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Perform other work‑related duties as assigned by a leader.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Class A or B CDL is required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English is required.
- Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.
- Valid U.S. driver's license is required to drive a company vehicle and must meet all company requirements for Helena vehicles.
Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required for all positions at Helena.
Work Environment & Physical Aspects of the JobAt Helena, safety is our highest priority. We implement extensive safety measures to minimize exposure to potentially harmful hazards. The work environment for this position is a warehouse/outdoor setting where the noise level is usually moderate to loud and occasionally very loud. You will work outdoors in all types of weather conditions and be exposed to outdoor elements. In the warehouse, you will regularly work around moving equipment and mechanical parts and could be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations, and a risk of electrical shock.
This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand (8 hours a day or more), lift, carry, push or pull (up to and including 50lbs or more), reach overhead (up to and including 25lbs), climb, grip, grasp and twist using hands and wrists, bend and stoop for long periods of time, work below knee levels for short periods of time, and work above shoulder level for short periods.
