Our client, a leading organization in logistics and supply chain management, is seeking a dedicated Freight Clerk to join their team. As a Freight Clerk, you will be an essential part of the Logistics Department supporting operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, aligning successfully with the company's commitment to excellence and teamwork.
Job Title: Freight Clerk
Location: AUSTIN, MN
Pay Range: $19.00/hour
Shift: Monday – Friday, 07:30 AM – 4:30 PM (no flexibility on hours). May work from home on Fridays after full training (~6 weeks).
What's the Job?
- Maintain and manage late truck email communications, ensuring timely updates and follow-up correspondence according to department procedures.
- Collaborate closely with the Appointment Coordinator to alert relevant personnel of potential late trucks identified through track and trace systems.
- Communicate issues related to deliveries with the Wal-Mart/Sam’s vendor management team to facilitate prompt resolution.
- Verify Wal-Mart appointments daily and cross-check data with AS 400 systems to ensure accuracy.
- Administer late coding for customer deliveries, track, and report on delays periodically to support operational improvements.
What's Needed?
- Experience in operations, transportation, or logistics planning.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to perform data entry at 40 WPM.
