Permit Scheme Coordinator

£18.35 per hour

Our client is looking for an experienced Permit Scheme Coordinator.

Mainly remote working. Once a month on site for team meeting. Need Driving Licence and access to a car.

The post holder will be required to:

• Undertake duties based on the needs of the service outside normal working hours, as directed by the Team Manager in accordance with agreed working patterns and the Council’s conditions of employment.
• Work on site at any location in the Borough as necessary.
• Hold a full driving licence and provide a car as necessary.
• Keep abreast of the latest technical development in highway maintenance techniques, the Highway Maintenance Code of Practice, the New Roads and Street Works Act, the Traffic Management Act, Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual and any amending legislation of Regulations and Acts.
• Communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.

Have a working knowledge of relevant legislation including:

• Highways Act 1980
• New Roads and Street Works Act 1991
• Traffic Management Act 2004
• The national Street Manager legislative requirements
• The Street Works (Registers, Notices, Directions and Designations) (England) Regulations 2007
• The Street Works (Charges for Unreasonably Prolonged Occupation of the Highway) (England) Regulations 2009
• The Traffic Management Permit Scheme (England) Regulations 2007
• The Street Works (Inspection Fees) (England) Regulations 2002
• Statutory Code of practice for the co‑ordination of street and road works April 2023
