Customs Brokerage Coordinator - S2

Responsibilities

Responsible for coordinating the documentation required by U.S. Customs and government agencies for the entry of goods into the U.S. on behalf of importers.

• Provide impeccable customer service.
• Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from databases, SOPs, tariff books, the internet, or customs.
• Enter and process various import‑related documentation for submission to U.S. Customs, including handling all participating government agencies (PGA’s).
• Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with record‑keeping requirements.
• Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations.
• Work closely with internal staff, departments, other Fed Ex operations, and customers to deliver a high level of service.
• Process agency brokerage shipments.
• May handle remote filings.
• Ensure all government and organizational policies are followed.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No industry experience required; a minimum of six months of work experience preferred.
• Data entry/keyboard expertise required.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to handle high‑volume, time‑sensitive work.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to use multiple systems and reference materials.
• Experience interacting with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, and management of all levels.
• Knowledgeable in HTS classification and familiar with the harmonized tariff system.
• Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and related federal requirements for the relevant area of expertise.
• Paid training provided.

• Remote role with training onsite at Riverwalk Pkwy, Tonawanda, NY.
• 2nd shift:
  Monday to Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.

This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location, and other job‐related factors permitted by law.

$15.50 – 24.46 USD Hourly
