Job Summary
About Kid Sport Summer Camps:
Kid Sport Summer Camps are for children ages 4-11. Kid Sport Inclusive and Kid Sport Adaptive campers will have time daily in the pool for instructional swim and water safety lessons. View our Kid Sport Summer Camps Website to read more about our programs.
- Plan daily lessons including modifications for a variety of abilities from non-swimmers to swimmers, ages 4-11. Kid Sport Swim resource book provided to help with planning.
- Monitor, demonstrate, and instruct children on water comfort and safety.
- For children that are ready demonstrate and instruct proper techniques and tactics to improve their strokes and overall swimming ability.
- Help enforce pool policies, rules and regulations.
- Prepare and put away equipment daily.
- Must be available for 9 weeks (June 15-August 14), Monday through Friday, from approximately 8am-4pm, with a lunch break from 12-1pm. No camp Thursday, July 2nd or Friday, July 3rd.
- Available for our paid camp orientation week, June 8-12, 2026.
Location: Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, MI. You will need to have transportation to this location.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Instructor and Lead: Previous swim instructor experience and/or competitive swim experience
Desired Qualifications
- Instructor — Experience working with children
- Instructor And Lead — Experience instructing children with swim lessons for 2 or more years
- Experience planning aquatic lessons for children with varying abilities in a group setting
