Youth Development
Southside Youth Development (SYD) is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering Chattanooga's youth by teaching essential life and leadership skills through baseball. SYD believes in the transformative power of sports to mentor youth and foster character development, helping them become successful students, community members, and future leaders. The organization provides opportunities for youth to develop perseverance, initiative, and integrity. A significant milestone was the revitalization of the main baseball field in the Emma Wheeler Homes community, which now serves as a hub for sports, community engagement, and SYD's impactful programs.
