Senior Backend Software Engineer - Hybrid or Remote at our Series C company backed by a16z. We are transforming the mortgage servicing industry with a unified platform for regulated environments. Our engineering team delivers modern infrastructure on Python, React, Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform.

Location:

NYC, NY or SF, CA for hybrid. We are also open to remote workers anywhere in the USA. In office hybrid 2-3 days with in office Wednesdays and Thursdays. Remote work policy: fully supported. Relocation NOT needed.

Major enterprise contracts are now deploying across the industry. Client's own OS is a unified platform that makes every process structured and programmable and it is perfectly positioned for the AI era.

• Learn new concepts and technologies quickly and apply them to challenging problems
• Design and build robust and extensible infrastructure to handle evolving and complex federal, state, and agency regulations
• Dive deep to understand the inner workings of a highly complex industry
• Work with Product and Design to define the best experience for our customers
• Contribute to our tech stack built on Python, React, Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform

3-4 interviews

• Experience at a well known, high growth tech startup (see target companies below)
• Backend expertise (front end engineers will be denied)
• Minimum of 4-6 years of software engineering experience
• Must live in the United States building quality software applications at scale
• Resume shows promotions/career progression
• Strong preference for NYC or SF. Remote candidates acceptable if they are currently at a well known fintech (ex. Stripe)
• Strong communicator. Able to work cross-functionally to balance product and technical requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science preferred
• Great at building scalable systems from scratch with a fast turnaround
• Experience with one or more of the following: web application development, mobile application development, building large-scale distributed systems, or infrastructure management
• Time management skills that will maximize efficiency in a fast paced startup environment
