Data Engineer - Remote

10 is currently seeking a Data Engineer for a Remote position with a Financial Services Organization located in Minneapolis, MN. This is a 6+ month contract-to-hire opportunity. Compensation: $55.00 - 70.00 per hour, W2.

This role is for a data engineer on the client's Ingestion Team, requiring at least 5 years of hands-on development and design experience with Spark, Databricks, and DBT. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong skills in advanced SQL and Python, capable of taking initiative and leading their own work.

• Apply expert industry knowledge to drive outcomes for customers
• Work and problem solve independently on initiatives that align to the broader software engineering strategy
• Design systems and software integration patterns across a diverse software engineering ecosystem
• Use independent, critical thinking to solve complex problems which are significant to the customer
• Develop the most architecturally impactful components of solutions
• Lead efforts to identify, incorporate, and define development frameworks and libraries
• Seek out industry and technology knowledge along with best practices to share with the team
• Coordinate design and integration of the entire system including subsystems
• Participate in team s collaboration sessions to provide technical expertise
• Contribute to detailed application specifications, standards, and diagrams
• Broker solution design and implementation across product teams to achieve outcomes
• Lead the resolution of critical incidents and proactively address product issues
• Promote and expand on the use of the CI/CD pipeline to improve the deployment and build process

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or other technical field or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in engineering environments, taking abstract concepts and ideas and formulating a detailed software engineering plan to deliver
• Extensive hands-on experience (5+ years) with technologies such as Apache Spark, Databricks, DBT, Python, and Airflow
• 5+ years of experience designing and developing reusable frameworks to streamline and standardize data engineering processes
• Experience architecting software solutions with requirements such as performance SLOs, high availability, reliability, security, etc
• Understand data and system integration patterns and technologies
• Strong conceptual, critical thinking, technical and problem-solving skills with good attention to details

• Financial services industry experience
