Fluid’s client is looking for a Staff-level Frontend Engineer to help scale a high-traffic, modern web platform built with React and Type Script. This role focuses on elevating frontend architecture, improving developer experience, and shaping best practices across a fully remote engineering organization.
Responsibilities- Build and optimize complex Type Script/React single-page applications powered by REST APIs
- Extend and maintain a reusable, accessible design system (components, themes, tokens)
- Champion modern frontend standards: type-safety, component-driven development, performance tuning
- Collaborate with backend, mobile, QA, and product teams on API design and end-to-end delivery
- Lead mentorship efforts through pairing, code reviews, and guiding technical direction
- Ensure reliability with unit, integration, and E2E testing running in CI/CD
- Drive improvements to build tooling, test infrastructure, and deployment workflows
- Evaluate and introduce AI-supported developer tools to boost velocity and quality
- Explore emerging frontend tech and make data-driven recommendations
- ~8+ years building production React/Type Script applications
- 2+ years in a Staff/Tech Lead role defining frontend standards and mentoring engineers
- Strong experience integrating REST APIs and managing complex UI state (Redux/Zustand/Context)
- Background in design systems, mobile-first responsive UI, and design tokens
- Solid testing practices and comfort working with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools
- Ability to shape API contracts and manage async flows
- Skilled communicator who can mentor and influence cross-team decisions
- Micro-frontends or SSR frameworks
- Performance profiling tools and advanced caching/CDN strategies
- Experience using AI-driven coding tools, refactoring assistants, or LLM-powered testing
- Fully remote within the U.S. (some state restrictions)
- Competitive compensation beginning around $200K+ (base + bonus)
