An experienced senior team member of the Software Test Automation team responsible for designing and developing automated software test framework and applications. This role identifies and leads projects to automate user interface and service level protocols for embedded, mobile, web, services and end to end testing. Leads and coordinates activities of employees engaged in performing audits and tests of software products in accordance with software test plans and procedures.

Assigns debugging and defect characterization tasks, and reviews detailed configuration and descriptions for passing and failing tests for product evaluation reports. Oversees documentation of test operations and reports results to software engineering.

• Creates, designs, develops, modifies, supports, and tests automated test software and software tools.
• Architects system level automated test software.
• Develops automated test company standards.
• Identifies and incorporates appropriate framework and tools to automate software testing.
• Identifies opportunities in software process, discusses with peers, and implements proposals to address gaps.
• Responsible for automated test software design specifications, interface descriptions, and other software documentations; may act as documentation owner for projects.
• Leads automated test environment configuration, planning, management, deployment, and integration with current test framework.
• Leads the setup and maintenance of the Continuous Integration environment for software testing. Works closely with Dev Ops to configure, manage, and document the automated test environment to ensure adequate browser and OS level support.
• Plans and coordinates automated test, tool, and build infrastructure with Dev Ops.
• Defines, architects, and develops software tools for internal customers.
• Leads multiple software development and test teams to align software automation schedules with formal software validation.
• Oversees the training, mentoring and development of junior team members.
• Completes code reviews for junior team members and provides coaching as needed.
• Manages source code effectively using Source Code Management (SCM) tools (e.g., Git Hub, Git Lab, SVN, bitbucket, Source Tree), processes and procedures.
• Develops and assists with implementation of software validation test plans.
• Innovates test methodologies that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of software validation.
• Estimates test efforts for new project deliverables.
• Plans and implements test strategies for system upgrades.

Remote OR Hybrid:
This position is fully remote and open to candidates within the United States. Candidates that reside within San Diego county this role may require some in-office work at our corporate headquarters in Del Mar, CA and remote work. This position is expected to be in office 1-2 days per week but may vary depending on business demands.

• Proficient knowledge of at least two embedded or cloud-based programming language, preferably JavaScript, Typescript, C or C#.
• Proficient with a common test frameworks and automation tools, preferably cypress, webdriver, appium, cucumber, jasmine, mocha.
• Able to work independently and deliver high quality work product without close supervision.
• Able to articulate work assignments and direct the work of more junior team members.
• Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
