Overview
Role- Senior Software Engineer – AI-Native (AI-Assisted Development)
Location- Remote (Anywhere in EST)
Compensation: Up to 200K Base
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who builds, reviews, and refines production-grade software using AI-assisted development tools such as Kiro, Cursor, Git Hub Copilot, and similar IDE-integrated LLMs.
This role represents a new development model for our organization. Rather than focusing primarily on manual coding, this engineer will excel at prompt-driven development, architectural reasoning, code review, and iterative refinement using AI as a core collaborator.
You will partner closely with other senior engineers, product owners, and engineering leadership to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and establish best practices for AI-augmented development across teams.
What This Role Is (and Is Not)This role is:
- A senior-level engineering role with strong architectural judgment
- Focused on designing, validating, and refining AI-generated code
- Responsible for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability
This role is not:
- A prompt-only or non-technical position
- A research or data science role
- A replacement for foundational engineering knowledge
- Design and implement software solutions using prompt-driven workflows in tools such as Kiro, Cursor, and AI-enabled IDEs
- Translate business and technical requirements into clear, structured prompts that generate reliable, testable code
- Rapidly iterate on AI-generated outputs to improve correctness, performance, and clarity
- Review AI-generated and human-written code with a strong focus on:
- Security
- Performance
- Maintainability
- Identify hallucinations, logical gaps, and unsafe patterns introduced by AI tooling
- Enforce engineering standards and best practices regardless of code origin
- Collaborate on system design, breaking down complex problems into AI-friendly components
- Guide AI tools toward clean abstractions, modular design, and scalable patterns
- Document architecture and decision-making clearly for human and AI consumers
- Ensure comprehensive unit, integration, and regression test coverage
- Use AI tools to accelerate test generation while validating correctness
- Own the “last mile” of confidence before production deployment
- Partner with senior engineers to define best practices for AI-assisted development
- Help establish internal standards for prompt structure, review workflows, and guardrails
- Mentor engineers transitioning into AI-augmented workflows
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong experience building and reviewing production systems (backend, APIs, services)
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Kiro, Cursor, Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) as part of daily development
- Demonstrated ability to reason about and debug code you did not originally write
- Strong understanding of:
- Software architecture and design patterns
- Secure coding practices
- Testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines
