Own the frontend foundations of a healthcare AI platform

At Clinia, we build the search and data infrastructure that digital health enterprises across North America rely on to deliver trusted, connected care experiences. As a ~40-person post–Series A scale-up, we work with enterprise healthcare organizations and healthtech companies to turn complex health data into products that improve access, efficiency, and outcomes.

We’re looking for a Staff Frontend Developer to drive sustained technical and business impact across our product and engineering organization. This is a senior, hands‑on individual contributor role for someone who operates at a systems level, aligns technical decisions with business priorities, and helps raise the bar for how we build and ship software at Clinia.

As our frontend technical lead, you will own complex frontend systems critical to product success while shaping technical practices that extend beyond any single team. You’ll partner closely with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to ensure our frontend platform scales reliably and continues to support Clinia’s broader organizational goals. Impact in this role comes through judgement, influence, mentorship, and execution.

• Own and evolve core frontend systems that are critical to Clinia’s product and customer experience
• Drive technical direction and standards for frontend development, balancing near‑term delivery with long‑term maintainability and scalability
• Align frontend engineering work with product and business priorities, ensuring technical investments deliver clear and sustained value
• Partner with Product and Design to translate complex requirements into intuitive, high‑quality user experiences
• Collaborate with Backend Engineers to define clean system boundaries, data flows, and API contracts
• Mentor engineers at multiple levels through code reviews, design discussions, and day‑to‑day technical guidance
• Lead frontend technical discovery and contribute to cross‑team architectural discussions to de‑risk initiatives before execution
• Establish and maintain automated testing practices (unit, integration, and end‑to‑end) to support reliable, confident delivery

• Proven experience owning evolving complex frontend systems in modern B2B SaaS or enterprise web applications
• Deep expertise in Type Script and modern JavaScript, with strong fundamentals in asynchronous programming and browser behaviour
• Extensive experience with React and Next.js in production, including architectural decision‑making at scale
• Strong command of HTML and CSS, with a disciplined approach to usability, consistency, and accessibility
• Experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful APIs and authentication standards (OAuth 2.0, OpenID)
• Hands‑on experience with frontend testing tools such as Playwright or Cypress
• Strong technical judgement, curiosity, a business‑aware mindset, and the ability to mentor others while driving meaningful outcomes
• Additional experience with design systems, performance optimization, accessibility, or advanced frontend tooling is a strong plus
