• Build and foster an inclusive, collaborative, and impact‑oriented culture
• Coach, mentor, and sustain a high‑performing team of engineers, including regular 1:1s and performance coaching
• Maintain cross‑functional relationships with key partners in Product, Data, Tax Operations, and other teams
• Set technical direction for the team to meet compliance commitments
• Advocate for systems that uphold high standards of correctness while enabling speed and iteration
• Engage in understanding tax domain context to weigh in on technical decisions

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including backend systems
• 2‑4 years of engineering management experience with high‑performing teams
• Deep technical expertise in high‑volume, mission‑critical systems
• Experience in ensuring operational excellence for production systems
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Service mindset with a focus on curiosity and empowerment
