JOB DESCRIPTION: Torc Robotics, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer based out of our U.S. headquarters in Blacksburg, Virginia. However, this is a purely telecommuting/work-from-home position whereby the employee may reside anywhere within the U.S.
Job duties:
Develop Software that deploys and controls the different HiL benches. Participate in roadmap discussions to match SW and HW capabilities of the HiL benches. Plan SW releases and deployments that fit the roadmap. Execute full software development lifecycle activities using C++ and Python in an Agile Linux environment. Provide Technical Mentoring within Software Team. Help interpret user requirements and specifications to create a proper SW architecture.
Interact with users and stakeholders. Close collaboration with suppliers to understand the HiL component capabilities, track and fix issues and provide clear and concise requirements. Perform problem solving activities during design, prototypes, and production, driving root cause analysis and problem resolutions. Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation. Domestic and international travel is required, up to 5% per year.
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field and 3 years of experience in job offered or related.
Alternative Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field and 5 years of experience in job offered or related.
Must have experience with:
Autonomous Driving Simulation;
Software controlled fault injection;
Robot Operating System (ROS2);
Protocol buffer messaging;
Bazel build systems; and CICD pipelines.
