Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Contract Type: Permanent

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Royal London. In this role, you will play a crucial role in providing deep technical expertise to help our teams design, develop, test, implement and support efficient solutions that meet business and customer requirements. This role is focused within our Protection Application stack and contributes to our purpose of strengthening the mutual choice for our customers, by providing the best technology solutions to our customers.

About

The Role
  • Develop complex solutions within own area of technical expertise.
  • Carry out impact assessment of complex changes to existing applications.
  • Document and agree design in advance to agreed standards.
  • Take responsibility that all code meets group standards, guidelines and quality gates for the given technology.
  • Ensure all code is thoroughly tested to identify issues early, working closely with the test team.
  • Safely implement solutions to production environment(s).
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the team.
  • Contribute to software development practice by sharing ideas and experience.
  • Participate in code reviews of others’ work.
About You
  • Enterprise development experience with .NET (C#) is essential.
  • Experience of the full software development lifecycle and awareness of agile development practices.
  • Technical knowledge of one or more programming languages.
  • Can work without supervision.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Keen to continue developing technical skills in ever‑emerging technology stacks.
