💻 RoleWe’re hiring Android Engineers to join our Growth teams, supporting both Seller Growth and Buyer Growth ler Growth Engineering focuses on helping sellers turn their hobbies into thriving businesses — building the tools, flows, and systems that enable sellers to onboard, grow, and succeed on the platform. Buyer Growth drives Whatnot’s top-of-funnel growth and first-time buyer success. The team works across acquisition, activation, retention, and resurrection, partnering closely with Product, Data, Design, and Marketing to bring new users into the ecosystem and turn them into loyal customers.
As an Android Engineer on Growth, you’ll design and build mobile experiences and systems that sit at the heart of the seller and buyer funnels — combining growth, trust, and scalability. Your work will directly shape how thousands of new sellers and buyers discover Whatnot, get started, and succeed every week.
Develop high-quality Android features using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose that enhance the seller onboarding, verification, and incentive journeys.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and backend teams to define goals, scope, and technical trade-offs.
Partner with data science to design and interpret experiments that measure seller success and improve funnel efficiency.
Contribute to the evolution of shared mobile infrastructure and best practices across Whatnot’s engineering teams.
Uphold engineering excellence through code reviews, documentation, and thoughtful discussions that raise the bar.
We offer flexibility to work from home or from one of our global office hubs, and we value in-person time for planning, problem-solving, and connection. Team members in this role must live within commuting distance of our Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco or Seattle hub.
