What You’ll Do- Develop Advanced Cloud & Data Platforms

Design scalable data pipelines, leverage modern table formats, embed policy‑as‑code, and accelerate delivery with GenAI developer tools. - Lead Technical Innovation

Guide the technical trajectory of a two‑pizza “You Build It, You Run It” team, adopt distributed data processing, Lakehouse architectures, and continuous optimization agents. - Collaborate & Influence
:
Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and platform engineers to balance velocity with governance and shape the future of AWS‑based platforms. - Mentor with Expertise
:
Mentor engineers from co‑op to senior level, foster a culture of craftsmanship, and build the next generation of technical leaders in our Canadian hub.
- Experienced AWS cloud and data engineering professional who thrives in small, high‑impact teams.
- Solid experience with distributed data processing, platform building, and observability, paired with fluency in GenAI coding assistants and modern developer productivity tools.
- Leadership who enjoys mentoring, guiding, and inspiring others and embraces the “You Build It, You Run It” ethos.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, delivering complex, enterprise‑grade projects.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Python, and SQL for enterprise application development and data processing.
- Deep expertise in AWS services and cloud architecture, with emphasis on scalable, reliable, and secure data platforms.
- Hands‑on experience with large‑scale data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Flink, or AWS Glue).
- Experience with modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Big Query, Redshift) for data warehousing and analytics.
- Experience integrating cloud services and APIs.
- Familiarity with Dev Sec Ops principles and modern CI/CD practices for secure, automated delivery.
- Proficiency with Docker and containerization technologies for deployment and scaling in the cloud.
- Strong knowledge of data security, governance, and privacy best practices in cloud‑native environments.
- Experience building and maintaining Knowledge Graphs and managing Data Ontologies.
- Solid understanding of W3C ontology standards (RDF, RDFS, OWL, SKOS, SHACL) with real‑world implementation.
- Interest or exposure to Generative AI architectures, LLM integration patterns, RAG systems, prompt engineering, and AI‑driven data workflows.
- Experience leveraging AI‑powered coding assistants (e.g., Git Hub Copilot, Amazon Code Whisperer, Codium
AI, Claude Code). - Familiarity with observability practices (Open Telemetry, Prometheus/Grafana, Cloud Watch) and on‑call rotations.
- Knowledge of multi‑cloud environments (Azure or GCP) to support broader interoperability.
- Experience with modern table formats (Apache Iceberg) and query engines (Trino, DuckDB).
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, MWAA).
- Experience with event streaming and CDC technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub).
