Data Engineer
Location: Remote to the following states: AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, IL, MA, MD, MN, MO, NC, NM, NV, NY, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT or WA
FLSA Status: Exempt/Salary
Position Status: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm (PST) - subject to change based on project assignments/deadlines and location (i.e. time zone)
Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 (commensurate with experience)
Travel: Up to 0-10% of the time
Job SummaryThe Data Engineer role requires a strong background in data engineering, including data processing, pipeline development, and database management. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of on-the-job experience in data analytics and/or data engineering and be an expert in Microsoft SQL Server, a programming language such as Python or C#, Microsoft Power Shell, and other relevant technologies. The qualified person for this position will have a proven track record in building and maintaining data infrastructure, ensuring data quality, and optimizing data workflows.
On a day-to-day basis, the Data Engineer will work with our data analytics and science team to support new development initiatives, maintain the existing platform, and ensure efficient data operations. The Data Engineer will perform these duties while maintaining good communication and reporting relationships with multiple departments, field management, and Company Personnel at all levels.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to support data analytics, data science, and business intelligence needs
- Build and optimize data infrastructure to meet department requirements
- Ensure data quality and integrity across various data sources and platforms
- Collaborate with different corporate platforms, including Operations, IT, Accounting, HR, Property Services, and Marketing, to integrate data systems
- AI/LLM usage, deployment, and environment curation for agentic solutions with data security considerations
- Regular worksite attendance in accordance with Company’s Attendance Policy is required for this position
- Other duties as assigned:
- Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, with frequent interruptions or distractions and within tight deadlines
- Periodic special projects and duties may be assigned based on Company need and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent from an accredited college or university is required.
- Equivalent work experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
- At least 2 years of on-the-job experience in data analytics and/or data engineering is required.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL required
- Expert knowledge of an object-oriented programming language(s) required (i.e., Python, C#, Rust)
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Power Shell required
- The ability to use an IDE and text editors with markdown (Visual Studio, VS Code, Notepad++, Vim)
- Experience with data pipeline tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Luigi, n8n)
- Knowledgeable in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
- Knowledge of virtualization software such as Docker and Automated Container Deployment (Kubernetes)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, and Outlook with advanced skills in Excel highly preferred
- Deep familiarity with common cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Snowflake) required
- Ability to understand and convey Company Policies and relevant industry standards
- Ability to analyze and configure data for reporting purposes
