About Us:Card Conduit was founded in 2019 to offer the easiest way to sell Magic:
The Gathering cards and, since then, has grown into one of the largest buyers of cards in the community. Many of our customers also know us as Spell finder, our retail arm.
Our service is built on trust, and we care deeply about our customers, our staff, and our mission to deliver industry-leading customer service and value.
The success of our mission relies heavily on technology, including systems for:
- Card grading and valuation
- Card mapping and identification
- Market price analysis
- Tracking inventory and orders
- Various API integrations
- And more
If you're into M:
TG, you'll be building a service the community loves. Regardless, the domain is fascinating: card grading, market dynamics, and inventory at scale present genuinely interesting engineering challenges.

- Thoughtfulness
- Think first, code later. Understanding that there are often many solutions to the same problem, we endeavor to weigh our options and think carefully about the best approach.
- We prefer readable code over brevity, where comments are rarely needed because the structure, variables, and method names in your code tell a clear story.
- Restraint
- The best solutions are simple and boring. We resist the temptation to demonstrate cleverness, or to use the newest, shiniest technology.
- The last 5% of a feature is the hardest part. We need to think about and cover the edge cases, and ensure every i is dotted and every t is crossed.
- Pragmatism
- We adhere to conventions when possible, but we’re not religious about it. When the situation calls for it, we’ll denormalize a field in the database, or repeat code. As long as we understand the tradeoffs, we prefer to be open minded.
